It's June?

So, it's June! I'm in survival mode, now that I have three kiddoes. Groceries are purchased after Daddy gets home. I zoom out to the store with the boy while Daddy stays home with the girls. Yesterday and today I implented "quiet time", which isn't so quiet for the first 20 minutes, but pretty subdued after that point. I'm going to try to implement this every other day, if not every day. The only one who doesn't always abide is Joseph... I'll let his behavior slide a bit :D hehehe. Why didn't I try this earlier? I guess I didn't need it badly enough. Haha!

Quiet time was made possible by IKEA. Job took the girls there (!) by himself (!!) last Sunday after Liturgy. He got them a bunkbed!!! V. sleeps on the top bunk, complete with an overhead tent and everything. Toys and books and all sorts of randomness have already infiltrated her new space.... much to her delight. Well, I'm just glad she's enjoying having her own bed.

Today I'm getting my "short hair fix". This hairdo keeps my hair out of and off of my face, and yet I like it better than a ponytail. I feel so Scandanavian! I was inspired by this blogger, and look-- she even posted a "how-to" hair tutorial on her blog today. I wish I could find more hair-braiding tutorials... what fun is long hair, otherwise (I don't know how to French braid-- gasp-- it's true!)?

The new kid on the block is getting quite plump! He sleeps most days, but seems to have a fairly wakeful day now and then. Like, right now. Right when it looks like he'll doze off, he gives out a cute, pathetic little screech. starts kicking his legs and looking around with his big eyes. Food, Mom, food! If it weren't for those blossoming, chubby cheeks, his downy soft skin and that irresistible newborn scent, I'd leave him to his own devices. (JK) He's too, too cute!

In other news, it's raining for the 90th straight day in a row here in the Pacific Northwest. Okay, maybe not 90 consecutive days, buuuut, you get my drift. I like the rain. Really.

And since I'm in my 40 days, and since I'm almost 3 weeks postpartum... I leave you with a little more link love about some interesting topics that I've been pondering. I honestly don't think of three kids as making up a "large" family, but I guess I'm wrong? I guess I'm now a breeder? Oh well. So be it :) And, if you sew or are into matters regarding style/ clothing, this is a good post. The discussion that ensues in the comments is intriguing, too. Although I'm certainly not one to remark or criticize anyone's personal style (yeeesh! no way). But it does inspire me to sew clothes that are fitted for my unique body, and stop "disliking" my body for not fitting in/ or looking right in whatever is sold in the stores.

Glad to hear that things are going well. I remember the days of going to store only at night and with the baby. Now I take all three- yikes! Usually it goes well, though.

I am definitely going to check out those links. Thanks!
