My memory is beginning to fail me

Full force ahead! I plow through the minutes, the hours, the weeks and months, without much of a thought. I'm left staring at my planner, astounded that it is 2, 3, 5 days later than the calendar date I had in mind. Isn't it still February 1st? And no, really, it couldn't have been nearly 2 weeks since I last blogged.

Hence, another reason I blog... if for nothing else, to have my life chronicled in some format... even if it is just random thoughts or photos posted hapharzadly on the world wide web. At least here, on this blog, these random "doodles" are attached to a date, a time.

And the photo above? Let's see... that' s when I/we made scones. I sort of ruined the batch, but they tasted all right. Not buttery-flaky, but palatable nonetheless. Vasi stared longingly at the pastries, fresh from the oven. High on her tippy toes, she reached for a treat. She thinks I'm not looking, but whammo!-- I set down my coffee, grab the camera and fire a hip(snap)shot.

"Let 'em cool, girl."

We ate a few. Shared the rest with neighbors who gave us an old plastic kiddie picnic table. It must have been a week or two ago... but beyond that, I can't remember much.

I really need to start scrapbooking or something.

Lovely photo...so much white, then the bright cheerful yellow curtain and her pink dress and the red towel on the oven handle...

I agree, I often go back to my Blog for journaling prompts, it has been a true blessing and reminds me to not stop blogging.

Froggy is so cute!

Just the coffee dude in me wondering, is that a bag of Starbucks on the counter?? What kind of coffee do you like from them?

I have a new roaster being built and am itching to share the goodness when it is complete.

To answer your question, Munkee, the coffee is Starbuck's Verona blend. My sis-in-law gave it to me for Christmas, b/c she works at Starbucks. She highly recommended it and you know, it's pretty good! :)

Hooboy, if you ever want to share some of your new roasted coffee, just let me know. Maybe we could barter or something :D

I'd be glad to give you some once the roaster is completed. Perhaps, it could be applied as credit toward a future art purchase. I enjoy the folksy, warm, whimsical art you produce...on top of just appreciating real, handmade, art and craft.

Do you and Job like beer? Perhaps some home-roast and home-brew would fit the bill? I'll soon have a new ale in the carboy.

mmm, scones and coffee? I'll be there in a jiffy!
I know how it is about the memory! I was putting some photos back in an ant free zone (they got into the hall closet-?!) and ran across pictures of Christina at the same age as Vasi. My those days have passed so quick -Now I am the parent of a 15 year old And a 18.5 and 22.25 year olds! Ack-How'd That Happen?
Scrapping is good, you just have to do it once a month to stay consistent! Wish I was closer, we could do it together - with the scones and coffee.
Think of you and loving the posts!
Squeeze everyone for me,
Love Aunt Helen

That IS a wonderful photo!! What a cheery kitchen. :) I think blogging is great for moms for the very reason you mentioned. My kids will often scroll through my snapshot blog just to see pictures of themselves and laugh at memories. It's also a nice way for me to keep up with old friends.

time is a funny thing how it slips away...i get a little sad when i think about it, especially in regard to the kids being young and growing so fast. These days go by in a snap.

i only wish i could keep that attitude in mind when they frustrate me or i feel like i would rather be doing something else.

c'est la vie.
