As requested: The one and only...

Here is the girl... For some reason our computer is not importing new photos from our camera, so I'll have to give you a month-old photo. Her Grandma Gail (aka "GaGa") and Grandpa Larry were babysitting her when this was taken. Which explains the too-small socks on her feet. Ever since I bought these boots for V., I've found little need for socks (seriously, she only has three pairs of socks that fit her... they're Nike socks, the only ones that stay on her feet). Well, there's something endearing about grandmothers and there need to a) slather babies with diaper rash cream at all times b) comb their grandchildrens' hair at all times and b) see that their grandchildren are dressed appropriately at all times. Hence... socks on her feet that are sized 0-3 months....

So, this Lent was uneventful (well, other than church services galore and Job's busy work schedule and the *hopefully* spiritual growth?), except for our close encounter with home ownership. Basically it just wasn't the right timing. Oh well! That made for an eventful few weeks, though. Now it's back to square one and enjoying (yes, enjoying) apartment life indefinitely... well, we'll start considering and "looking" again in the summer, but I don't want to get my hopes up this time, so I'm trying to temper myself.

Little V. is growing beautifully. She is "chattering" a few words and eating a lot of solids, though she still nurses quite a bit. Her latest nicknames are "Lopita" (from "Vasilopita" aka St. Basil's bread) or "Lopi".

Other than being a wife and a mom, I'm just plugging along. Trying to be less greedy. Trying to organize my home a little more, bit by bit. Trying to "want what I've got" (as Sheryl Crow puts it), even when the spring "sandal" fever hits, and I yearn for a new pair of spring/summer shoes. Now THAT'S tough.

Right now I'm going to go for an evening walk with the family. It's so nice that the daylight is extending to longer hours now! That's what I love best about the spring and summer months. Christ is Risen!

Look at those cheeks! Lopita...not to be confused with Lolita!! Just kidding, that's cute :)

I love the little socks. It's funny which items just sort of stay around forever. I was clearing out Basil's dresser a few months ago and realized there was a size 18mos Tshirt still in there that he was wearing! No wonder it was snug...ahem, i mean "fitted".

New sandals...ouch yeah. Wanting what you have and not those sweet mary jane crocs. yeah i know that one. Hang in there, sister.
Again, good to see you back!

That is a cute little baby. Reminds me of a picture I have of my own little Hannah at that age, all jolly and pudgy, and practically edible.

You are so right about grandmas. My mom would be so uneasy if Hannah didn't have any socks on. And the hair thing? Um yeah. Hannah now requests to have Gamma do her hair everytime they visit together. Though I talked her out of the overuse of diaper rash cream, she did want her to be eating plenty of solids by three months! :)
