Joy!

Well paint me green and call me Gumby! A girl! Job and I got to see our little gloworm, wriggling around in her mama's tummy. We were VERY surprised to discover that our little one is a SHE-- but it was a thrilling, pleasant surprise nonetheless! Of course, there is still a 20% chance that our little girl is a boy (she was being modest, very ladylike with her legs crossed-- but towards the end there was enough "evidence"to assume she was a girl!). While the sonographer left to evaluate the sonograms, Job and I were baffled as to what we would name our little girl! All along she's been "Symeon" to us! One name popped into my mind, and (wonder of wonders) Job really liked it too! But I think I'll wait a week+ before I post anything "official," since everything is still subject to change.

Oh yes, and our little girl is healthy-- Glory to God! Thank you so much for your love and prayers, everyone! Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Congratulations on your girl baby! My parents were so convinced that I was a boy that they didn't even think of a girls' name for me. After I was born I didn't have a name for a week! I can't wait to hear what name you choose. If you are taking suggestions I really like Dorkus, the Old Testament seamstress. J/k (o:

Congratulations...that's so exciting...guess that answers my previous question ;) When we found out J was a girl I asked the tech if she could tell because she couldn't see a penis (duh) and she exclaimed "girls aren't girl just by default, you know...look here, there are three little lines..." I thought that was so funny! Congrats again!

Congratulations! I'm so glad that your little one is healthy and I admit as the mom of two boys a bit of jealousy, a daughter, oh XK how aweosome that is!

Hey, look at that cute little tummy! Awwwwwe! You play that baby some Dean Martin and tell her that he is much better than Bing Crosby. Gotta start teachin' 'em young, you know. ;)
Love to you and the little fam!

i'm going to add another comment:) another good thing about your baby girl is hand me downs... i'm sure you'll be able to use lots of baby kirsten's clothes... hand me downs are a God-send (my sister has a boy and she gave me all the boy clothes... and still gives me boy clothes... pavlos is so excited to wear something that belonged to his cousin pavel:) and now my sister has a girl and so we are set, between the two of us, with boy clothes and girl clothes:) plus, and i wouldn't change my boy(s) for anything... BUT girls are so much more exciting to buy things for... boy clothes are extremely boring (as my sister says there's only so much you can do with khaki's and a button shirt:)

Meika,
That's hilarious! You were "nameless" for a week, eh? Well, that's basically what would have happened had we not found out beforehand. Gosh, was I ever caught off guard! Um, Dorkus/Dorcas? I'll let you keep that option for your own future daughter.

Christina,
Yeah, I knew we had to have a girl in the "April crop," but I figured it would be a trio of boys. Guess not! Oh well, I want them to be friends just the same.
Yes, I look forward to little girl hand-me-downs. One of my co-workers is anxiously awaiting to hear of the baby's gender, b/c she has BINS full of girl clothes that she wants to get rid of. Wahoo! I'll take it :)

Sara,
At first I thought the sonographer was just kinda surmising she was a girl b/c no extra "attachments" were showing up. But, looking at our little sonogram pictures, there are definetely three little lines :D hahaha.

Dawn,
Thank you!

Elizabeth,
Four daughters! Wow :) I'll contact you if I need any advice ;)

Laura,
Those are "regular" jeans I'm wearing-- I bought them one size too big and they're working great as makeshift maternity pants. Of course, I'll be needing some real maternity jeans before long, but yeah :)

Mimi,
Your still young... a girl might come along afterall... :D hahaha. There's always hope for grandkids at least (unless X and C become monks?).

Espana,
hehehe! I'm sure my dad would cringe if he knew I was indoctrinating the baby in the ways of the Rat Pack :D haha.

As the mother of 2 girls and then a boy, I can safely say that girls are much easier to raise than boys.
If we hadnt had Yianni, I would have thought child rearing was a breeze!
Congratulation....Susan
