Theophany marked a significant day for me: Three years ago on this feast I was chrismated! I think I already mentioned that in my last post. Anyways, Theophany most certainly is NOT about me, but it definetely is a beautiful time and a celebration for countless reasons!
My friend and roommate Heather has a blog, check out her new dread locks! She worked on them over Christmas break, and I think her efforts deserve some "publicity" :D It seems that people are either totally in love with dreadlocks, or they're totally disgusted by them. Me? I just think they're cool looking. If I ever had the guts, I might try them myself (I mean, seriously, I'd never, EVER have to worry about combing my hair!)... but something tells me that will never happen. So, for now I'll just enjoy Heather's cool dreads!
Another CD... somebody stop me! I saw him in concert Friday night, and his CDs were on sale for a killer price. With Gillian Welch's latest CD also ordered and on it's way, I told Job I've hit my music quota for the entire year. No more new CDs....
I've been reading Father Seraphim Rose: His Life and Works. Let's just say this: I like it so much I read with a highlighter in my hand. With such a vast book, I figure I'll have a hard time relocating my favorite quotes and passages, so the highlighting comes in handy. Either that or I've just done way too many book reports in my day! I hope to share more on his life and works in future posts... but for now, there's just too much to digest!
Today was the first day of my spring term, my LAST term, here at college. It's strange to think that after 16+ years of formal education, I'm finally at the "threshhold" of its' completion (the beginning of the end :D). Most seniors are attacked with senioritis by now, and I admit I'm antsy to graduate as well. But I'm not going to mentally "check out" this term. I've got some great classes lined up, and I would like to enjoy them and try my best to work hard.
Lastly, my lovely sister and brother-in-law are expecting a little one any day now!!!! I will be one excited--no, ECSTATIC--aunt! I'm absolutely thrilled... I'll keep you posted on the "baby watch." I'm hoping she comes on Friday or Saturday so that I can spend some extended time with the baby and her happy parents over the three day weekend :)
