Job caught a nasty flu bug yesterday, which left him in bed all day long, and left me in "mommy mode" ALL.... DAY.... LONG. I'm pretty spoiled; when my husband gets home from work, he gives me a little break and plays with the baby. I never realized, until now, how much I heavily rely on those evenings breaks. *sigh*
My New Year's Resolution is to be a better manager of my time. To embrace fully the role of Mom, Wife and--ack-- Housewife. Up until this point I've tried to deny the fact that my role is to take care of baby, husband AND home. I'd like to better manage my time so that the more important aspects of home-life are taken care of before I allow myself some "down time." Well... three days into my resolution, and I'm already flailing... hence I'm here, blogging (V.'s napping). Job's being sick has kept me on my toes nonstop, between nursing him back to health and nursing (literally) and entertaining the baby.... leaving little room to stop and clean and pick up after myself.
Last night, in an effort to kill some time and seek some sanity, I bundled up Froggie and we went for a walk. Not exactly the best idea, being that it's so dark in the evening, but it was much needed. I always feel better after I walk, and the moon, stars and the sky were so incredibly clear. There's another resolution: be more consistent about walking and getting exercise.
Speaking of which, the sun is peaking out as I write, and I'm feeling the urge to get out and walk again while I have the chance. Job was going to work a few hours this morning and then come home to rest more and recoup, but it's 2:00 now, and I think he must have gotten sucked into staying at work. Oh well. I just hope he doesn't overwork himself, poor guy.
Take care, friends! Hope you are all well!

I hope Job feels better soon! And that you get a rest again. Have you had to do what I consider the Hardest Job Ever yet? That is, taking care of baby while sick yourself. So difficult when you're the primary caregiver, and the other caregiver can't take off work to take care of the little one(s). Of course, you have family around so maybe that's not an issue for you. Lucky! Thank heavens my kids are big enough to fend for themselves now--last time I was sick in bed, Zac brought me more blankets (and more, and more, as I was about to freeze to death).
I hope Job feels better soon, poor guy.
I agree with Elizabeth, it's so hard to be a mom when you are sick, I hope you are able to escape the flu.
Hope Job is well soon. It's no fun when anyone in the house is sick. I am actually taking my little guy into his Dr. today. The cough just isn't getting better. Hopefully, it's nothing.
I want to walk more. The weather here never gives me an excuse not to, my flat tire on the jogger stroller does, though. Nice to read your posts. The picture of Froggie in the previous one is SO cute. What a sweet lil' thing!
I'm a horrible housekeeper. But I am getting better. When something about my house is bothering me, I just have to remind myself that if I don't do it, no one will.
Hope your husband feels better soon and you can start getting some mommy breaks again. :)
