The gammit for today:
* Make 3 dozen baked lenten treats for the beginning of the Women's retreat tonight! I'm very excited. I'd like to make some chocolate chip banana bread, sliced individually and, of course, placed in some decorative paper baker's cups. Because that's what all of the proper Greek ladies do. Wait a sec, a slice of bread won't fit in a baker's cup. Hmmm...
* Take a walk with the child.
* Work on a bulletin board beautifying project. For some reason, bulletin boards/corkboards are one of my weaknesses. I like the versatility of them. They are decorative and functional-- very useful. You can post informational stuff, as well as photos and postcards. Or you can just make a unique "memory board." I found a huge corkboard at Goodwill for $1.99. Today I'm going to spray paint the frame white, then when it's dry, I will pin/staple some pretty cotton fabric to the surface (I got a yard of fabric for $1.99 as well). I plan to put it over our bed, since there's a big bare spot there. And since corkboard is rather light, I feel a little better about putting it over our bed in case it ever came crashing down on us while we were sleeping. When it's done, I want to put some family pictures and memorabilia on it. If it turns out nice, I'll be sure to post a photo of it.
* Go to the aforementioned Women's Retreat! Yay! I'm so excited.
* Make a quick dinner for us to eat before heading out the door to tonight's discussion (which is open to both men and women, so we're all planning on going).
What's on the docket for you today?

That's funny, I literally just printed a recipe for chocolate chip banana muffins right before I read this. Yum!
Hope you get it all done today. I'm being lazy. I went to get blood drawn at this lab and then to the grocery store, and I'm calling it a day. I'm sure being 10 weeks pregnant has something to do with my laziness.
BTW - sorry if I never intro'd myself to you. I found your blog from blue canopy. I think I might have said hi before, but if memory serves me wrong, sorry, and I like your blog. :)
I love the cork board idea, I have one I need to beautify myself, I'm stealing your ideas.
I got to see you, that was on my docket!
*retouch and order images for seven hours and, thankfully, get paid today. Always a good thing.
*try not to eat too much chocolate.
*attempt to clean up the mess from dinner last night.
and when that's all done I will light ALL my red candles and turn on music and putter happily in my studio which is finally coming together (thanks to 3 work tables I found at Goodwill for only 7.99 each!).
yummy bread and cool corkboard idea...I hope the retreat was nice. I'm gonna steal you idea and use this for a post. thanks ;)
I did a corkboard for Pavlos' room when he was first born. It somehow was destroyed in our move to our new home:( Oh, well, corkboards are pretty inexpensive and so is paper to decorate.
I made cookies for the retreat, also. Mine were non-lenten so I made oatmeal raisin. but Pavlos decided he doesn't like oatmeal raisin so I ended up also making chocolate chip for him (and he helped me make the cookies which is fun... he loves to cook).
Oh, and you have to put the cookies/sweets in a silver paper baker's cup... that's very Greek. And then you also need a silver tray. With a hand crocheted doily on it to decorate. And then place your sweets in the silver baker's cups on the tray. That's as Greek as it gets.
