A day on the beach. Believe it or not, this photo was taken after my grandfather's funeral. My paternal grandpa passed away (rather unexpectedly) last Tuesday. On the following Thursday, Vasilia and I flew down to Salinas with my sister, niece and my mom.

Considering the sad state of affairs, it was good to be in California. I wouldn't call it a vacation by any means, but it's always good to be with family. To eat together, to mourn together, to appreciate life together. We flew back in on Sunday, and life is just back to the daily flow... oh well, it was nice to have a break for the short time we were allowed!

Oh dear Xenia Katie, I'm so sorry about your Grandfather. May his Memory be Eternal.

I know what you mean, though, it does seem good to reconnect with family in a situation such as that.

Hugs and prayers.

XeniaK,
Truly, may his memory be eternal. Sorry for your loss.
It is nice to see your little one. She is beautiful and I am sure giving you reason to smile even during these difficult and sad days. Children are such a blessing in that way.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I'm happy that you were able to make the event of his funeral comforting and positive though.

You have such a pretty daughter.
