XK, where are you?

Christina's most recent comment ("Katie, where are you?") deserves a response. I didn't even realize until now that I haven't posted for over a week! I've been busy reading other people's blogs, but I somehow have forgotten to post on my own.

I've been working all this week. Normally I only work four days a week, but this week I've worked 5 days. I'm getting more tired after each work day. Add Lenten services on top of that, and it leaves little to no time to brew up something interesting to write about... or comment on, for that matter. So if you've noticed I haven't commented on your blog, don't think it's because I don't love you! :)

That said... after today, I am done with work. Yep. Today is my LAST DAY. I really can't believe it. It's almost unfathomable. I got here early today, so I thought I'd take a few minutes to blog before the store opens. I'll actually miss work. Now that I no longer have to work evenings, it's been rather pleasant. My coworkers and my bosses are super... couldn't ask for anything more. I'll miss the amazing employee discounts, for sure. But then again, I'll probably end up saving more money than before :) It's rather bittersweet, actually. I'll miss my friends here. It's funny, two months ago I was SO READY to be done (it was right after the chair-breaking incident), but now I'm not ready to go. Not ready to be replaced. It's weird to think that being a mommy is really my next big career move... I have to remind myself that this period of rest is very necessary.

Well, I have to get started on opening the shop. For the last time. *sigh* Thank you God for your blessings, thank you for allowing me to work here for the past year. God is good. On to bigger things, though.

God bless you.

Congratulations on your last day Katie. I know it's been a struggle for you - physically, but I am so glad you could end your work experience there not wanting to leave. That is a good thing. Work is of value, and relationships formed are of value, and the best bosses/owners in the world are valued so much!! Glory to God for his provision through Oblation!

Congratulations! You should celebrate with PJ's and tea and a movie with a baby in it...which there are a lot of. Or you could watch the episode of Friends where Pheobe gives birth to triplets. But maybe something without three babies all at once would be better ;).

Congratulations in passing another milestone on the road to motherhood.
Some mothers dont have the opportunity to stay home with their babies. You are lucky to be home, and lucky to have such nice bosses. Jennifer and Ron are the best.
Motherhood will be the most rewarding, exasperating, rollercoaster ride job you will ever have.
Im sure you will do well.
Stay healthy and put your feet up!
RELAX the next month, you wont get to for a long............time.
My children are all grown and I still lay awake nights worrying about them. Im sure your mom can attest to this.
Love, Susan

Amen Susan!

I try not to worry......but as a mom of adult children, I do have to fight worry and fear - almost more than I did when they all were youngsters.

Now I know why my mom prays for us so much!!! The prayer circle of life goes on...

glad to see you posting again:) and i hope you enjoy your time off of work. that's awesome.

Lois, when they are young you are responsible for their decisions. When they grow up they make their own choices and we as parents are simply bystanders.
The circle of prayer indeed!!

Thanks everyone for your well-wishes and encouragement!

Heather... yes, PJs and tea sounds nice... and watching a baby movie sounds nice too :)

Susan,
You are right. I do need to remind myself to be thankful for being able to stay home and be a mom. I'll do my best to relax :)

Momma,
I think you have some worrying rights. Mainly because all of your kids are at such transitional times. You've got one with a 1-year old, one with a "potential spouse," one with a baby and one still in high school, going through all of the tumultuous high school stuff.
Susan's right, try not to worry too much. But your prayers are ALWAYS welcome and encouraged! What a wonderful mother I have :)

Christina,
Yes, this post was just for you :D hehe.

Mimi,
Thank you! I'm so glad to be done! *phew* :)
