He's not an artist, but I love his perspective on things. Here are some of the photos that my Valentine (that's Job) took on our trip to the monestary.

Exterior shots of the nun's living quarters (top level) and the church (bottom level)
Forgive me, I'm really lousy at formatting these pictures onto blogger!

oh my! this brings back memories.
a few years back a bunch of us women from st.hermans made the trek down to this place for a retreat.
little did we know we'd picked their feast day of st.john the forerunner!
wow! there were a cajillion people there, mostly greek, and many convert orthodox from nearby churches.
it was a weekend to remember.
*sigh* we still talk about it, now and then...
What beautiful photos, XK! The bells and the icons are particuarly lovely.
I'm glad you had a good time.
I like those bells too...there's nothing like real bells tolling. there is a church near us that plays prerecorded "bell" tracks throughout the day. weird. looks like a nice trek. oh yeah...what colors do you like for your little girl...and what colors do you like to wear? i want to send you a little something and should get started on it :)
Victoria,
Yeah, their feast days are busy, busy, busy! I have not yet made it to the monestary for their feast day celebration, but I can see how it might be overwhelming if you weren't expecting it :)
Mimi,
Yeah, I'm sorry the bells picture got overlapped by the other picture. Eek. I am too lazy to fix it any time soon... :D
Sara,
No kidding, what's the point of electronic bell tracks? Well... I guess I see "the point"... the clocktower at my college has the same thing.
You're MAKING us something? My goodness, that is so incredibly sweet of you! Wow, you really don't have to... But to answer your question, baby and I like most every color. I'm personally a wee bit partial to greens... and for the baby pretty much anything fun and not overly prissy or too pink, you know? I like your style, and I trust your judgement entirely :) Thank you so much!
ok cool...i'm a green girl too :) i am excited to send you something!
I'm glad you were able to go. I'm taking a Monday off in March so that Susan Sophia and I can go, it'll be my first time there.
When we were there in November, there was lots of snow on the ground. And I remember thinking to myself as I was packing that I should bring my camera. But I have been numerous times in the past and always brought my camera and never took pictures. When we arrived, I wished I had brought my camera. Even just to take pictures of Pavlos playing in the snow!
