Glory to God for all things, great and small

Yesterday Job and I went to the doctor's for my second prenatal visit. It was very quick, but very special because we got to HEAR THE BABY'S HEARTBEAT! Oh, it was absolutely wonderful... I could have laid there and listened to it for hours, if I could have. We could hear EVERYTHING that was going on in there. At first I just thought the extra noise was static from the doppler device, but the nurse said, "No, that's the baby moving." And boy, was s/he moving! The nurse commented that either the baby had hiccups, or it was a very active little swimmer! I won't be surprise if "baby" is a little boy, with all that energy.

Needless to say, it was a very special moment. We met with a new certified nurse midwife this time, because the one we had last time wasn't available, much to our disappointed. We really liked her a lot. But the CNM we had yesterday was wonderful too. She's new to the clinic, so hopefully I'll get to be one of her new "regular" clients. I was able to schedule another appointment with her in 5 weeks-- hooray! I pray that I'll get to stick with her from here on out, b/c I don't much like hopping from one CNM/doctor to another.

And in early December I get to go in for an ultrasound! I can't wait! By then, we should be able to find out if I'm carrying a little girl or a little boy. We plan on finding out, mainly b/c I'm just too darn curious. I have no preference, I'd be thrilled with either... although I happen to think it's a boy. It's just a hunch, I don't know why.

Thanks for your prayers. "Baby" thanks you too! :)
