A relaxed mind is a creative mind.
A good reminder. In my artistic experience, it seems to be true. It's hard for me to come up with ideas and create when I feel pressure to do something GRAND and EXQUISITE (echo, echo, echo). No, when my mind is relaxed, then I can think. So I think... and I sketch... and I draw... and I don't let any detail of life go unnoticed without entertaining its creative possibilities. The patches on a woman's jeans, the shapes and forms of shadows, the intricacies of an unnoticed paisley pattern. I store it in my sketchbooks and whatnot, for later use when the pressure is on and I need something good in a short amount of time.
So there you have it... a brief little musing on what a tiny tea tag told me.

The little taco sauce packets at Taco Bell also have little quips written on them too.
I'm rather fond of the existential ones. My favorite is "Of all the sauce packets, why me, why now?"
Giggle - we get Yogi tea too!
Great quote, by the way.
Sounds like you are hitting the tea- instead of coffee.....good for you!!!
May your days be relaxed!!!---- mom
Laura,
I'm not sure if all teabags have quotes... but it's worth checking, I suppose for the occassional "gem" :)
Karl,
Those taco bell packets are hilarious!
Mimi,
Glad to know someone out there is a co-yogi fan :D I wasn't sure if anyone would understand what I was talking about! hehehe.
Momma,
Hello! Yep, I'm trying to get better about the caffiene, although *confession to all readers* I did have a week-long relapse into latte-land after I wrote the initial post about quitting it all. *sigh* But now I'm sticking to it, or at least digressing with green tea.
Glad to hear Dad's doing the same!
So you are an artist too and you have a sketch book too. I guess that means it is time for me to start bringing mine around, in addition to my digital camera...what is your favorite subject or what type of artist are you?
