Well, I'm married now!
So far it's all wonderful. Of course, there are many new adjustments to get used to (like going home with Steve every night instead of parting ways and going back to my own house)... but that is expected. After being together for almost two and half years, there is something overwhelmingly rewarding about being married. Before I met Steve, I thought the ideal relationship situation would be: meet, date for 6 months, be engaged for 6 months and get married.
Ha!
I've learned through this relationship that there are no "formulas" for dating. Each couples relationship is unique and different. And though I have not yet acquired the fruit of patience, waiting for marriage did teach me a lot about endurance and long-suffering (although I use that last term lightly, since my issues are petty compared to those who really suffer in life).
And then there are those who have to wait in a different way. They wait for the right man or woman for several years... waiting and waiting until it seems nothing will happen... and then one day--bam!--they meet someone, and before you know it, they're engaged and married!
So I don't know. I don't have the right to give advice to single people (or married people for that matter), but I thought I'd share my thoughts on the waiting process. There are two sides to each coin.
So anyway, I think that's all I can muster right now. Yes, Doug, I bought both Nick Drake CDs. I'm really enjoying them, and Job likes them as well :D I was glad to see "Fly" was included on Bryter Layter (I always enjoyed listening to it on the Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack). I also bought Crime and Punishment... a little something to read for when I'm finished with Fr. Seraphim's biography (which is absolutely amazing and soul-stirring).
If you've never read anything by or about Fr. Seraphim Rose, I highly recommend his biography, as well as the books The Soul after Death and Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future. These books, especially the latter, are not "comfortable reads." The truths are jarring and they really awaken the soul to the world we live in, and these "final days" we are in.
God bless!

I see that wedding photos are in high demand...! Once we get some, I'll most definetely post! Our professional photos might take a few weeks, but there were tons of folks with cameras taking candid shots. Maybe they'll send some my way :) Thank you for all of your well-wishes and blessings!
