I'm an Orthodox Christian, and I strive to follow Christ day by day. I'm blessed to be married to Deacon Steve. We have four wonderful kids! I love to create comics, art, sew, write and read. :)
Anyone have a good (preferably somewhat simple) recipe for vegan BBQ baked beans? Just thought I'd give a shout out... I'm having a hard time finding a keeper.

There is a good barbecue baked beans and lentil recipe on the church website. It's a good one.
I didnt realise that you guys were vegan....would love to hear more! There is a cool blog caaled veganlunchbox.blogspot.com it is done by a mother who prepares vegan lunches for her son to take to school. she might have one in her archives or you could ask her and she might have a recipie. and to mom....whats the churches website....I want that lentil recipie now!!!
Mom, Thanks! That's good to know, however I did find another one on the Whole Foods Market website. LOVE YOU!
Anon, Well, we're not vegan. It's kind of hard to explain... I'm an Orthodox Christian and we periodically abstain from meat and dairy during specific times of the year. Our church website is stjohngoc.org, however I'm not sure which category you'll find it under... but there you have it if you'd like to snoop around on there :) Thanks for the link to vegan lunchbox, very interesting!
a blog you might like cos i know whe is also orthodox is diaryofayoungwife.blogspot.com she is pregnant too! i would love to hear more about orthodox christianity....have never expereience it before
Hi Anon, So, now that we're establishing rapport, may I ask who I have the pleasure of corresponding with?
Yes, I'm a big fan of Emma's blog! Since I am only a simple follower of the Orthodox Faith and am unable to explain it very well, I'd recommend you visit the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese website (goarch.org) where there is a lot of information available. "The Orthodox Church" by Kallistos Ware is a great book too. Or, if you're curious to experience, just visit your local Orthodox church for a Saturday evening vespers service.
