To all of the Pauls, Peters, Paulas, Petras, Petros', Pavlos' and Pavlas-- Chronia Polla ("Happy Names Day"... I'm working on my Greek, bit by bit).
'Twas good to break the fast and feast a bit. I made sure to take smaller amounts at our church potluck. Last Pascha I overloaded my plate with flesh and devoured it-- I don't really remember actually tasting anything, I just gulped it down and ended up with one mean stomach ache. This time, I took just the right amount, and enjoyed little tastes of several things. Makes it so I don't feel like I swallowed 5 bricks.
Yesterday after church Steve and I attended a wedding of some friends from school. They aren't Orthodox, so I was just expecting a rather traditional Protestant wedding. Yeah... Not quite. I, uh, won't go into details. All I can say is that Steve and I are looking forward to shocking everyone at our wedding with--brace yourself--outright, uncensored, Apostolic, incense-ridden, unchanging, old skool, blatantly "in your face" Tradition with a capital T. Word to your Yia yia.
Oh, Lord have mercy!

I hope Steve wasn't scandalized too much by the wedding....I want to hear the details!
Did you have any of the Ethiopian food? It was really good!
Don't get your hopes too high for the evangelistic power of the wedding. Your sister and I had 230 people at ours and the bulk of the comments were things like "Um, I didn't realize we had to stand the whole time."
Karl:
Yes, we're certainly not counting on a widespread conversion right after our wedding... ;) I carefully chose the word "shocking" on purpose. :D
I didn't have any of the Ethiopian food last night... I probably should have. At potlucks, though, I try to stick to the familiar b/c I don't like wasting food that other's could have eaten.
Sinner being saved:
Thanks so much for the commenting advice! I'll certainly look into it.
